My favourite subject this year was writing, because you can write anything you desire.
I have improved in my maths because this year I have been trying to learn as much maths as fast as I can.
I really enjoyed R.E because i like learning all about Saints, Jesus, God and Holy people.
I am proud of my spelling because my mum has been trying hard to get my grades higher and higher.
My friends were Keira and Fiapo. I became friends with them because Keira was the one who looked after me when I first started school, and Fiapo was the one who was my bestest friend in the world.
Next year I would like to improve my hand writing so I
can be a neat writer.
Kia Ora, Greetings, Malo e Lelei, Talofa Lava and Malo e lelei. We are year 2 and 3 learners in the Tikiritia Learning Space. We are the Tikirita 3. Our teacher is Mrs Prasad. We look forward to your comments on our learning.

A Dragon Who Wants A Friend
Once there lived a nice dragon who
wished he had a friend. While he was walking he saw a fat green frog who was
trying to catch a fat fly. He walked to the frog “Hi my name is..”
“Help! Help! There’s a fierce dragon
who is trying to eat me!” Cried the frog.
“Please don’t leave I just want to
have a friend.”
But it was too late. The frog had
left him. The dragon was so sad. Next he went to a river. Nearby the river was
a big bad bear who was fishing for his lunch. The dragon combed his spiky hair
and walked slowly to the bear. He said in a big voice “Hi, my name is..”
“Help me! Help! There’s a big green
dragon trying to eat me for his lunch.” The bear ran away screaming “Help!
Help!” The dragon cried and cried and cried. The dragon said in a sad voice “No
one wants to be my friend but I am not going to give up.”
It was getting dark and cold. The
dragon decided to go back home to have a rest.
Then in the morning he will go back
and look for a new friend. When the dragon woke up he was still tired. He
thought it was the morning but he was wrong. It was still night. The dragon
dreamt about something crazy. That’s why he woke up so early in the morning. He
heard a tiny voice. He looked down. There he saw a tiny mouse hiding from a
huge eagle which was flying on top of the cave.
“Hey can you please scare away the
huge eagle? He wants to eat me.” Said the mouse. The dragon thought for a
while. Then he thought that this little mouse could be his friend. The dragon
quickly blew out flames from his mouth. “Thank you so much! Um what’s your
name?”
“My name is Max. I am really shy and
I don’t have a friend yet. Maybe you would like to be my friend?”
“I’ll be happy to be your friend.”
So on that very day Max never felt
alone again.

My Troll
My Troll is an evil, horrible, unkind creature. He walks on one foot. He has a wooden foot. He has fierce, blue eyes. He has many scars on his face because he has been having dangerous journeys. His hair is light green and he has big, scary looking teeth. My troll lives under children's beds. He doesn't look like he can fit under children's beds, but he can! Before children go to sleep he scares them. After he has scared him or her he runs away then hides under another child's bed. My troll eats good kids because he hates good things, and other small trolls. I don't think he has a happy life.

Our First Day of Milk
Today,8 November, Room 4 had Fonterra Milk for the first time.Vanessa and I got the milk from the music room then went back to the class room to give out the milk to the class. When I tasted the milk it was very cold and yum. When we were finished we had to fold the carton up. This was not easy. After that we had to recycle the folded milk carton into a special recycling bin, it was a big oblue bin.
I am looking forward having more milk.

A New Kiwi Sport
On Monday Mrs Pole told us that we are going to do a new kiwi sport called squash. It sounded like fun but still it sounded like people were getting squashed by each other!
After lunch we lined up in the hall. When we got there in front of us was a tall man. He told us to take a seat. Then he introduced himself. His name was Phil and the other guy was Michael. First of all Phil showed us how to play squash. After that Phil told us to sit in a circle. Phil showed us how to hold the racquet.
Next Phil asked us if any of us wanted a turn on the court. Maea raised his hand. When Maea had finished his turn, I raised my hand. I felt nervous. Phil said "Good job!" I was proud.

The Hare and the Tortoise Retold by Aaliyah
One hot summer morning was a Hare who always thought he was the most fast, clever and handsome animal in the meadow. He told the rabbit that his ears were the tallest. Hare always made fun of Tortoise because he was so slow. Tortoise had had enough of Hare making fun of him, so he said, "Hare, I have had enough of you. I want to have a race with you."
Hare said, "Ha! You are the slowest animal in the land."
"We'll see about that!" Said Tortoise.
So everyone gathered where Hare and Tortoise were having the race. Everyone cheered for Tortoise even if Tortoise lost because Tortoise was a very good friend to everyone. He was a patient, kind, faithful, joyful little Tortoise. So the fox said "Get on your marks, get set, go!" Hare was running and running and Tortoise was plodding and plodding. Hare came to a stop. He was very tired. Hare thought Tortoise was so slow that he could not even catch up, so Hare went to bed. Hare was fast asleep. Tortoise was plodding past Hare. Tortoise saw that Hare was asleep so he kept trying to get to the finish line. Hare ran as fast as he could, but it was too late, Tortoise had already crossed the finish line. Hare came to Tortoise and said "'I'
m sorry." So Hare and Tortoise became friends.

A New Skill
Last Tuesday afternoon Room 4 and Mrs Pole went to the school hall to learn a new kiwi sport because we needed to learn more things about kiwi sport. When we got into the hall Mrs Pole introduced our instructor, Robbie. First of all Robbie told us to take off our shoes and socks but Olidah and I didn't because we had stockings on. To start with Robbie said, "We will start with a warm up game." It was called Stuck in the Mud. I forgot how to play it! Robbie said, "This is how we play Stuck in the Mud. There are two people that have to tag other people. If they get tagged her or him has to put their hand up, then another person has to double clap the person who has their hands up." I felt happy to play with the class. Robbie said to move away from each other. When Robbie said "Go" we all ran around the hall screaming. I saw Olidah trying to get me. I started to slow down. Olidah tagged me. I put my hand up, I saw Malakai coming to double clap me so I could run away. I saw other people getting tagged. Next Robbie said "Stop." He said to come and sit down. I wondered what was going on. Robbie was going to show us how to do a fore hand grip and a back hand grip. Robbie said " Let's start with a fore hand grip, a fore hand grip is like your shaking hands with someone." Robbie checked if we were doing it right. After this he gave us one racquet and one shuttlecock. He explained what a shuttlecock was made of. It was made out of fifteen goose feathers and at the bottom was a cork. I was so amazed with how people made shuttlecocks. Last of all Robbie said, " We will play a game called the Hamburger game. You have to make a hamburger with the racquet and shuttlecock and walk with it." Robbie put us in teams. I was with Keira and Olidah. When Robbie said stop we all went to sit down and go back to class. I felt happy and I can't wait until we go to badminton again.

My Collage Artwork
I enjoyed making the little fish and the big fish.
What I found tricky was putting on the tissue paper on the background because the tissue paper always ripped.
I like the way I used a lot of texture.
I used texture by using green, purple and silver crepe paper.

Swimming At St Pius X
At St Pius we have a marque in our courts, and inside it there's a swimming pool that's portable. We have a swimming pool because we will learn new skills. I was so excited I couldn't wait until it came. When the swimming pool came we changed behind a sheet very quickly. Then we came out and we walked to the courts and then into the swimming pool. We had an instructor, her name was Gillan. The water was very cold. We all went to the other side of the pool. We learned how to swim backwards on our backs. It was such fun. I learned how to hold my breath for 20 minutes! It was so cool. Now we can do a somersault and a streamline. We had some free time then we went out of the pool. We walked to class and we got changed.

A Special Friend
On Tuesday, 23rd May, St Joseph came to Saint Pius X Catholic School. We all went to our church to have Mass. There were two Fathers in our church. Saint Joseph's priest was Father Terry. Our Father was Father Ioane. When mass was over Room 3 from Saint Joseph's came into our class. We said our prayers. Room 3 gave us badges with feathers in them, it was lovely. My friend's name was Katelyn. We played together. I showed my friend where the field was, and the small park too. Katelyn said we should play at the small park. Then we went to our concert. We sang songs together. We had the best time but they had to leave. I was sad. Katelyn hugged me. I was happy. I loved singing best of all.

Courtney put me, Olidah and Claudia into a yellow team. We were going to play against the blue team. It was so cool. It was an adventure for me. I would play football again because it was cool.

My Holiday
My Holiday
In the holidays me and my family planned a surprise party for my brother's birthday. We all had presents for my brother. My mum cooked a chocolate cake. It looked delicious. My brother was 23. We turned off the lights and we hid. My brother came out and we said "surprise!" He was very scared. We had some chocolate cake. I had the best time ever.

The Water Slide
Last Wednesday afternoon Room 4 went out to the field. First of all we changed into our wet clothes or our swimming togs. When I saw just a plastic sheet I thought it would not be fun. To start with some instructors squeezed a lot of detergent out of a squeezy bottle. Then the hard water hit me it was so cold. I heard people screaming and squeeling it was so much fun. I ran and slid all the way over the plastic sheet. Some people pushed me and it did not hurt. It felt like i was swimming in a pool. Next the instructors told us to get off the water slide. I enjoyed playing on the water slide because it was so much fun.
