Memories

My favourite subject this year was Writing because you can write Narratives. I have improved
on R.E because you can learn stuff about Jesus. I like to think about Jesus. If you think, you will have
Everlasting Life. I really enjoyed doing my work and Music. I am proud of myself because I sang a solo on the Jam-Bus. My friends are Beni, Macky and Samasoni. I became friends with them because
they were smart and good. Next year I would like to be good and nice too.

My Troll

My Troll looks  very fierce. He has a black, giant beard. He wears a big, giant, dotted  hat and ripped
clothes. His nails are long and grey.On his face is a red scar and his buttons are sparkling. Also he
is a naughty, bad creature because he always has fights with other green Trolls and brown goats.
He lives in a stinky, brown, old shoe. He waits for his supper in his stinky shoe. What he eats is
creepy slimy bugs. Even animals like big goats. And he is the meanest, odd fellow with  red eyes.
Sometimes he eats humans like you. But be careful because this fierce troll will come and get
you in bed!

Our First Time Having Milk at School

Today Room 4 had milk. Aaliyah and Vanessa brought them in a box. Then they put them in a fridge so that the milk can be nice and cold. After that when it is nice and cold the monitors put it in the container and gives it to the classes.
When I drank it, it was really cold and nice. It was like I was in heaven. After that we had to make the cotainer flat like paper. Then we folded it like a box. Then we folded the sides in and then you are finished. It takes lots of practice to do that but do not put it in the rubbish! Put it in the recycling bin.

Learining About Squash

Yesterday afternoon Room 4 were going to the hall to play a game called squash. I thought that we had to squash a ball or a coconut but I was wrong. It was a game will a racquet and a small yellow ball. When we got there we saw a man named Phil. He showed us a big giant plastic thing. It was as tall as a giant's foot. It was a squash court.
After that Phil showed us how to play squash. It looked hard because it was too fast like the hare. Later he put us in teams. The other team went to the squash court and I was with Phil. He played lots of games. The last game was like relay. We had to balance the ball on the racquet while we were walking. 
When I'd finished the last round we asked questions about squash. After that we said bye. I felt like playing it again.

The Hare and the Tortoise Retold by Falakiko

One hot summer morning there lived a quick runner called Hare and a slow green Tortoise who was kind and never showed off. One day quick Hare made fun of Tortoise. Then Tortoise got very red and mad and challenged Hare to a 2 kilometer race. Hare laughed and said "You can't catch up to me! You think you can beat me? We'll see about that!" Said Hare "Let's see who wins."
After their horrible arguing they ran, except Tortoise he just plodded while Hare ran. He said to Tortoise "Hurry up you little green Tortoise." When Tortoise got to the starting line they said together "Take your mark, get set, go!" Quickly Hare ran in a blaze and left Tortoise behind plodding along the dirty, dusty road with his green little legs. Hare was far away from Tortoise so he thought that he could have a sleep, so he ate a carrot from a bush, felt drowsy and sleepy. Then there was silence and Hare fell in a deep sleep. Later Tortoise saw Hare snoring, he moved his head but Hare still slept on and Tortoise went past Hare and won the race.

Looking for Communion Clothes

Yesterday Stella and I had to get ready to go and get our clothes for our First Holy Communion of the bread and wine.We went everywhere.The first thing to buy was my clothes but we had to look for Stella's clothes first.It was very hard because all of them were beautiful so we chose a white one.After that we had to look
for a black suit with a black bow tie and a white t shirt for me.Then we had to look for shoes and socks.
It was a very busy day. Later on i had to have my hair cut but they said on Friday afternoon so Stella and I
got dropped off home. I was exhausted when I got home.I hope I will look handsome and clean.

Our Cool Badminton Lesson

On Tuesday afternoon Room 4 went to the school hall for our first badminton lesson to learn new skills. First of all we started off with a warm up. The first thing in warm up was a game that you might know - Stuck in the Mud. Then Robbie, our instructor, told us to come and sit down. Next he showed us something like a tennis racquet but he said it was a badminton racquet. A little while later Robbie told us a little thing about shuttlecocks. A shuttlecock is a thing that you play with, a bit like tennis. Its round part is a cork. Cork comes from trees. Robbie said to have a try and bounce it. "But not very hard," said Robbie. Room 4 bounced and hit everything with the shuttlecock. It was very hard. The last game was the H

amburger game. It was a bit hard. After we'd finished we had to line up to go back to class to get back to our learning. I wish that we could do it in the holidays and everyday.

I enjoyed making scales for the fish.
What I found tricky was putting tissue paper on the seaweed.
I like the way I made my fish interesting and put the sequins on the fish.
I used texture by using lots of thick and thin paper and crinkly cardboard.

Room 4's Beautiful Assembly

Last week on Friday, Room 4 made an assembly about Faith. First we made some plays and Mrs Pole made us costumes for the play. Before we got there we had to get ready because we might be late for our assembly. We made a circle and I had to sit in the front with Keira because I had to do a prayer and sing 'Just a Single Candle.' The other people in Room 4 had to sit in a circle like a moon. People started coming in the hall and we felt so scared that Room 7 might laugh at us. When we finished the song I heard a clap. I felt so proud that everyone clapped and cheered. Fiapo and Sia were going to tell the classes about a little play of Room 4. So the first play was The Blind Man and the actors were Alan, Malakai and Maea. When they started off they had to say the Blind Man so the audience will know what the play is called. Then it started Sia was talking about when Jesus left Jericho. My friend Alan was the blind man. He had to close his eyes and pretend he was blind. There were three plays and I was in the last play and it was called the Paralised Man. My favourite part was when Maea was being lifted to me because I was Jesus and laughed. It was lots of fun at our beautiful assembly.

Dear Huni,

Today I want to tell you thank you for looking after our school and taking care of the flowers.
I want to thank you for sweeping the ground and hosing the plants so it can be clean and can be strong.
I really enjoy talking with you and fixing our desks and telling us your jokes and for giving us your beautiful smile.
I would like to say I hop you enjoy your holiday after you have left Saint Pius X.

Triathlon

My favourite part of the triathlon was running and jumping because we had to do push ups at the end. At the end of the cones you change to the next event. I liked the bike riding because when you get on the bike you can ride around the flags 3 times. It was fun. We didn't have swimming because we did not have a pool. After that when we were finished we had to go back to class to do my work.

The Waterslide

On Wednesday morning Room 4 were going to the Triathlon to have our last event. First of all we all got changed into wet clothes. We saw a big plastic sheet on the grass. Then we lined up at the back of the cones. Next the instructors said to us to slide on our tummies so we wouldn't bump into others. We got squirted with the hose. Lots of people were pushing and yelling. I felt cold. When I was sliding water went into my mouth. Everyone was screaming and squealing. Room 4 had lots of fun. When the hose was on it sounded like I was having a shower outside. After this I felt very cold. When we had finished the instructors said that we had to get off the slide. I wish I could do it at my house.

Waitangi Day

On Waitangi day I stayed home and played with my friends in the park. I we went with Stella too. We were playing on the swings and the bright sun was making us hot. After that Macky and his brother and his mum came over to my house. Later he went home. It was a very cold and hot and sunny day. When it was night i went to sleep.
