Memories

My favourite subject this year was R.E because I love to learn about Jesus and Mary.
I have improved praying with my teacher and my class.
I really enjoy art because we do art too.
I am proud of writing because I read to see if it makes sense.
My friends are Keira, Katelyn and Sia. I became friends with them because when I was hurt Sia helped me. My knees were so sore.
Next year I would like to do more narrative writing because I let my mum and dad read my narrative on the computer.

Our First Day of Milk

Today, 8th November, Rom 4 had our first Fonterra milk for school. The monitors gave the milk to the people who were reading quietly. The milk tastes like normal milk.
When I finished my milk and the bottle was dry I took the straw out and I flattened it. Then I folded the long side. When the long side was folded I tucked the folded part into the bottom of the carton.
I felt excited when I started to drink the milk because it was yum.
After when you have finished you put the folded carton into the recycling bin.

Our First Squash Lesson

On Monday afternoon Room 4 went to the hall to have our first kiwi sport called squash. Phil was waiting at the door. The instructor told us about the game. It was called squash. First of all I thought squash was like we had to sit on each other. When I went to see in the hall I thought this thing was a large frozen block but it was just a court.
The instructor divided us into two groups. One on the court and the other practicing new skills. Next we swapped over. Aaliyah and I were partners. Then we changed partners. I felt so confident because before I was so nervous.

Fabric and Fibre Artwork

Here I am doing my sewing.
I like doing sewing because it is fun.
What I found tricky was that I had to go forward and backwards on the flower.
My favourite part was stitching around the flower.
When my artwork is finished I will give it to my mum because she is funny.

A Long Run

Yesterday afternoon we had cross country. I didn't run because I had a sore leg. I had to stay in the courts with Katelyn. We had cross country on the field. I saw Vanessa running. Vanessa came in 1st place. When Vanessa was running I saw Sia running as fast as she could. Then she slipped. On Friday Aaliyah would have a certificate. I saw that Sia was exhausted. Aaliyah told me that she was tired. My favourite part was when I saw Aaliyah running as fast as she could. I felt happy when my mum came. I said "Hi" to my mum then she said "Hi" back.

Our First Badminton Lesson

Last Tuesday afternoon Room 4 went to the school hall to have our first badminton lesson. First of all we took off our shoes. Then Robbie said "We are going to play Stuck in the Mud." The taggers were Maea and myself. Next we tried to balance a shuttlecock on the racquet. Last of all we played the hamburger game. The instructor was Robbie. Robbie showed us the real shuttlecock. My favourite part was when we bounced a shuttlecock on the racquet.

Swimming at Saint Pius X

At Saint Pius X school we have a swimming pool. Our instructors names are Gillian and Kevin. Sometimes we do streamline or freestyle. Some people float on their backs. We love to learn new skills. My favourite thing was diving because I love putting my heard under the water. Our swimming pool is in the marque near the hall. Some people can swim backwards and frontwards. Inside the marque we have a big pool with steps. Sometimes Gillian sent people out of the pool. My favourite part was the streamline because that was such fun.

Today I want to tell you that I thank you for taking care of our school. Thank you for fixing our desks.
I want to thank you for looking after our garden and hosing the flowers. Thank you for emptying the bins.
I really enjoy laughing with you because we make jokes all the time. I also love the flowers you planted.

My Holiday

My Holiday

In the holidays I went to Valentines for a birthday. My cousin was there. My favourite part was eating ice-cream with my cousin. I loved my cousins birthday because my cousin makes me laugh all the time. My cousins birthday was the best thing in the world.
 The next day  I went for a run in the morning with my dad and brother. I felt so exhausted!

Football Fun

Yesterday afternoon Room 4 went to the courts where Courtney was waiting. First of all we changed into our sports clothes. I was nervous because I didn't know what was happening. We learnt new skills. Last of all we lined up on the yellow line and we learned how to stop the ball with our feet. Next we put on the bibs. I was in teh blue team. I was against the yellow team. My favourite part was learning new skills. I felt so tired because it was hot. I'd love to play it again and again because I love it. Courtney said "We are going to play a game like tag."

Celebration Day

On Tuesday 21st May St Pius X and St Joseph's children and teachers came to celebrate Catholic School day. First of all we went to church to have a mass with St Joseph. My friend gave me a badge. I played with my friend. My favourite part was the concert because I loved the items. My favourite song was Count on Me. I felt joyful. After the concert finished the game we were playing was tag. I was in. I was tagging my friend. Then she was in. My favourite part was making new friends.

My Soul Friend

My soul friend's name is Lupe. She is 10 years old. Her favourite subject is maths because she knows her times tables. Her favourite colour is orange because it reminds her of Fanta.  What my soul friend likes best about school is laughing with her friends. I like my soul friend because we make jokes.

The Water Slide

Last Wednesday morning Room 4 and Mrs Pole went on the field by the big tree. First of all we changed into our togs. We ran to the field. The instructors said "line up." I saw a big plastic sheet. It felt cold and it was slippery. I heard people screaming and shouting and having fun. There were bubbles on the big plastic sheet. We had some cones. I saw detergent and cold water was sprayed on my clothes. Last of all we dressed up in our uniforms. That was our last event of the triathlon. It sounded like a shower. I did flopping and people having fun. Next we did running in the grass. While the instructors said "you have to slide like a superman on your tummy." Next we saw some bottles with soap in it. The instructor squeezed the bottle over the big plastic sheet. We had to line behind the cone. It is like a pool. I heard laughing. My friends were sliding on the big plastic sheet. My favourite part was when it was so cold!

Fitness

First thing on Monday morning at 9am we lined up in our teams. We were doing running and skipping on the playground, so that we can get our brains working. Mrs Pole rang the bell. Next we had jumping and we were so exhausted. I was sitting on the seat. I saw Sia doing hoops. Fitness is my favourite thing in the morning.

Waitangi Day

Yesterday I went to the beach and I swam in the water. We had a race in the water and I won. After I had a picnic. We went home. After I went to my friends house and I played on the computer and we played games and it was fun. I ate some pizza and it was fun.
