My Mum

My mum is special because she cleans my clothes. She helps me to do the washing. My mum also makes my lunch and takes me to school.
I love my mum.

Our Class Mass

Our Class Mass My favourite part of mass was reading with my soul friend. I felt very excited and a little bit nervous. My highlight was that my mum came and was singing. What I hated was standing up in the front because my feet hurt. What was funny was Father asked if we had facebook. Father asked what do the disciples eat? Father was asking a lot of questions. PLAYING WITH MY SISTER AND LOOKING AFTER THE BABY

On  Saturday  it was  foggy, cold and windy day.  Me and my sister Ma'ata went to the kitchen to make our breakfast. When we'd finished we ate  our food. After we finished our breakfast  we went to brush our teeth. Then that my sister got the toys and play with  them. I  asked  if I could  play with her."Yes," said Ma'ata. ."Thank you Ma'ata".
Then my dad told  us to look after the baby too."Yes dad,"said Ma'ata
."I've got an  idea What if I  look after the baby and you  play with the toys?" I said
."Yes, that's a good idea, " said Ma'ata . When we took  turns  it was night time and the baby was asleep. Delightful, quiet, peaceful!

The Children whose Mum was up in the sky - A re-telling

Children whose Mum was up in the Sky

Many years ago on a dark moonlit night the children were thirsty and asked "E Rona can you get some water?" Rona said "Yes" and she got the taha and went to the path. The path was bumpy. Rona couldn't see anything. Rona said "Marama! Marama! Get out of that cloud!" Marama didn't care. Rona got very, very angry and said, "Look what you have done. Silly old moon." Marama got angry and tried to pull Rona. Rona held the ngaio tree but Marama the moon pulled as hard as he could. Marama pulled Rona and suddenly Rona and the taha and the ngaio tree went high in the sky. Rona was scared and sad. Rona said to the moon, "Marama! Marama! My children are calling for water." The children were waiting and waiting. Suddenly the children heard something and it was their mum. The mum said, "I'm up with Marama."

The message was do not be mean to each other.

The Big Races

The Big Races

On a hot summer's Friday afternoon we went to the starting line. I waited to hear the whistle. Miss G said "Get set, go!" I ran around the school. Parents were watching and so were the teachers and students. I felt nervous  and excited. We ran two times. When we finished we went back to our age chair. Mrs Pole said "Good girl." We watched the seniors. I came fourth. What I didn't like was that I fell down. I felt tired when I ran. My highlight was when I ran around the school. Mrs Williams was looking for the winners.

Saint Puis X

Saint Pius was born on 1835.
Altar boy. He was the holy boy.
In Padua, Bepi was sad to leave his family.
Now he was a priest when he was 23.
To school he wore bare feet.

Pope Pius loved Mass so much.
In 1903 Bepi's new name was Pope Pius X.
Uusually adults only take Holy Communion.
Some of the children called him Bepi and Guiseppe Sarto.
X is the number 10. Saint Pius the tenth.

The Winner

The Winner

I see some people clapping and screaming and cheering. I can see a hockey stick and a white mouth guard. I can see a tall, strong woman with long blonde hair. I can see a woman who is happy because I think her team won. I think the woman is proud of herself. I cam see a stadium full of people. The hockey stick colour is blue and pink. I see a white and black tunic. I see her socks and her shoes. The shoe colour is pink and green and white. I think her coach is proud of her. I think she will get a medal and a bouquet full of flowers. I think the girl can smell the food. The woman is holding the hockey stick. I think the woman hit lots of goals.

The Big Porridge

On a foggy Monday Room 4 was making porridge. First we poured 8 cups of water. After that we put oatmeal in the pot and 12 children had turns sprinkling the oatmeal in the pot. When everyone had turns we stirred the oatmeal with wooden spoon. Next we waited for the bubbles to come. The Mrs Pole got the ladle and put the hot porridge into the bowls. After this Ms Mat put the brown sugar on our bowl and Ms Mat said "who wants milk?" After we ate the porridge. Last of all Stanley had 3 bowls of porridge. The porridge was delicious and yummy.
