Well done for having a go Winfred, sometime we learn the most when we are challenged... 13 is x1 10 and x3 1's, 8 is x8 1's, and 10 is x1 10. so I have 2 x10's and 8 1's + 3 1's which = 11 which is 1 10 and 1 1's so now I have 2 x10's + 1 10 = 3x10's and 1 x1 which is 31.
Good work. You kept going even though it was hard. Remember you can use things around home , like coins or pencils or little balls of paper to help you make the numbers and count . This will help you understand the numbers.
