Our Class Mass

Our Class Mass In the morning Room 3 and 4 went to the church I saw my mum and dad. I said to my mum and dad "Hi." I payed "Bless children who have no friends and help us to be real friends to each other. Lord hear us." We sang a song. The priest asked questions about facebook. I guessed that it was hard but I had a go. My favourite part is eating the bread and drinking the wine. After mass my mum and dad left. By Anthony

Our Class Mass

Our Class Mass My favourite part was when I was doing the offertory. My part was holding the candle. It smelt like I was on fire. It was funny when Father said "Do you have facebook?" My favourite part eating the bread and drinking the wine. I liked the song with the actions. I saw my mum and my baby. My mum said "I am so proud of you Marcus." By Marcus

Our Class Mass

Our Class Mass My favourite part of mass was reading with my soul friend. I felt very excited and a little bit nervous. My highlight was that my mum came and was singing. What I hated was standing up in the front because my feet hurt. What was funny was Father asked if we had facebook. Father asked what do the disciples eat? Father was asking a lot of questions. Our Class Mass

Our Class Mass On Friday morning we went to the church and when we got there we saw our mums and dads at the church. We sat down and after that we sang a song called Isn't. He and the people stopped singing now. The readers came to the front and did their psalm. My favourite part was Father talking. By Von

Our Class Mass

Our Class Mass On a foggy, cold and exciting day Room 3 and 4 has a soul friend mass. It was exciting because there were heaps of parents coming to support their daughters. When the mass had started I was feeling confident because heaps of people were at the mass. When we were singing I felt like I was singing by myself. When my soul friend went up and talked I was proud of her because she's my soul friend. My favourite thing in mass was when we were singing and doing the actions because when I sing I always think about the poor people and God and Jesus. The last part of mass is bowing down and looking at Jesus. My other favourite part was when i listened to the readers. They sounded wonderful. I felt like I want to have another soul friend mass again because it is special to me and my family. The last bit I want to say is I love talking about mass because I always pray at home with my whole family. I've got heaps of lovely family. By Henrietta

Our Class Mass

Our Class Mass On a hot morning Room 3 and 4 were excited because we were going to have a friendship mass. When the bell rang Mrs Pole said "Come on we are going to mass." When we came out we lined up with our soul friend and then we walked to the church. When we went inside we couldn't sit together. When it was time for the people to read I liked listening to them. When Father asked if we have facebook i started laughing. When it was time for the offering i liked listening to the soft music. After communion some of Room 3 and 4 held up a Jesus sign. I was nervous. My favourite part of the mass was when we sang and doing the actions. By Stanley

K.I.T Day

K.I.T Day On Tuesday I went with Mrs Phillips, Maxwel-Dee and Vaiora to a picnic in the park. We did lots of things like playing on the playground, going for a bush walk and races. But the best thing was cooking s'mores biscuits! To make s'mores we needed a knife, a stove, biscuits, marshmellows, chocolate spread and skewers. First of all we put chocolate spread on two biscuits. Then we put a marshmallow on a skewer and toasted it over the stove. To finish, we put the marshmallow between the two biscuits and squashed them together and ate it. It was yummy! The K.I.T day was fun! By Alex

The Children whose Mum was up in the sky - A re-telling

Children whose Mum was up in the Sky

Many years ago on a dark moonlit night the children were thirsty and asked "E Rona can you get some water?" Rona said "Yes" and she got the taha and went to the path. The path was bumpy. Rona couldn't see anything. Rona said "Marama! Marama! Get out of that cloud!" Marama didn't care. Rona got very, very angry and said, "Look what you have done. Silly old moon." Marama got angry and tried to pull Rona. Rona held the ngaio tree but Marama the moon pulled as hard as he could. Marama pulled Rona and suddenly Rona and the taha and the ngaio tree went high in the sky. Rona was scared and sad. Rona said to the moon, "Marama! Marama! My children are calling for water." The children were waiting and waiting. Suddenly the children heard something and it was their mum. The mum said, "I'm up with Marama."

The message was do not be mean to each other.

Shining Moon - A re-telling

Shining Moon

A long, long time ago the moon light shone brightly in the sky. The the children were thirsty. They called out "E Rona! Bring us some water." Rona took a taha and set off to the water spring. The way to the water spring was bumpy and Marama hid behind a dark black cloud. "Come out from behind that cloud." Rona shouted at the moon. Rona was walking and she tripped over a ngaio tree. Rona shouted "See! What! You! Have! Done!" Marama said "Don't you talk to me like that!" Rona said "I can say what I want to say." Then Marama swooped down and grabbed Rona but Rona held onto the ngaio tree and then Marama pulled harder. "Please" Rona begged. "My children are calling me." Marama pulled so hard that the ngaio tree came right out of the dirt. Then Marama held onto Rona. The children came out looking for their mum. "I'm up here with Marama."

The message for this story is watch what comes out of your mouth.

THE PUMPHOUSE

On Monday I went with Mrs Phillips and Izac from Pt. England School to the Pumphouse Theatre in Takapuna to see the HAIRY MACLARY SHOW. It was a good show and I liked it when Slinky Malinki was stealing   things in the night. It was very funny when Scarface Claw got stuck up in a tree and all the people shouted and pointed at the tree.

After the show we ate our lunch and then went to Takapuna Library and read some Hairy MacMaclary Books. When we left there we went to Takapuna Beach and saw a volcano called Rangitoto. On the way back to school we had a Happy Meal at McDonald's and played on  a playground  in a park.

I enjoyed the day and liked meeting my new friend Izac because he wears hearing aids like me.

I see the woman holding a hockey stick and putting it up in the air, holding it high. I think that the woman is also proud and strong because she is amazing. I feel the woman's soft long hair and see her necklace. It is very pretty. I am thinking that I am looking at a winner and a champion.

I think people are cheering about the man who has won the race. He is kneeling on the soft, green grass and crying and happiness. I can smell that the man is sweaty after running so fast and the sun makes his wet skin shine. The noise of the people gets louder and louder because they want to see him get his gold medal.

A Fun Time In The Holidays

On a warm Sunday morning me and my two brothers and my two Big! Big! bulldogs came to the school field. Whenever I ran, my two dogs were chasing me around the school. The school I was at was Saint Pius X School. I and my brothers had fun. I was happy because I don't like school. My two bulldogs had too much fun chasing. I got so puffed out that I had to stop running. After that they caught me and licked my face. My other dog came and bit me. We got hungry so walked and walked then finally we saw a shop. I had a nice pie. They had chips. My bulldog had bacon. YUM! I said to my self. We were thirsty so we bought a drink. Ooooooe, fresh drink! We felt tired because I keep running around the school with my dog and my brothers were tired because they had been running around the field. By Motu

First of all I had a good sleep and then me and my famil went to the Waiwera Pools. We met two swimmers and their names were Sam and AJ. They told us how to swim and they told us how to swim on your back. I said I have already done that with Mr Burton. But they said you have to try again, little boy. So I tried again and again. I was happy ever after. Then we went to the playground with heaps of water. I was the first one to get the hose and I sprayed heaps of water out of the hose. After this we went and got some candy floss at the shops and then we went home and had a good sleep.

The Big Porridge

On a foggy Monday Room 4 was making porridge. First we poured 8 cups of water. After that we put oatmeal in the pot and 12 children had turns sprinkling the oatmeal in the pot. When everyone had turns we stirred the oatmeal with wooden spoon. Next we waited for the bubbles to come. The Mrs Pole got the ladle and put the hot porridge into the bowls. After this Ms Mat put the brown sugar on our bowl and Ms Mat said "who wants milk?" After we ate the porridge. Last of all Stanley had 3 bowls of porridge. The porridge was delicious and yummy.

The Big Pot of Porridge

First of all on a cold Monday morning, Room 4 had porridge in the morning because that's what they ate in the olden days. Mrs Pole brought an element and milk and oatmeal. Mrs Pole said to Eusepio "can you get 3 cups of water?" Next we had a turn to stir. Marcus was the first one to stir. He had a very long time. While he was stirring we sat on a cushion. When it was nearly ready Mrs Pole said come and see it bubbling. Marcus stirred with a wooden spoon. Pio gave the 3 cups of water to Mrs Pole so she could tip it into the pot. I felt excited. The porridge made my tummy hot. I put brown sugar in my porridge, that made my porridge yummy. Last of all, we gave our plate to Mrs Mat so she could wash it.

Yummy Porridge

On a cold Monday morning Room 4 made porridge at St Pius school. First of all, all of the children sat around the element. After this Mrs Pole asked Eusepio to go with the Jug and fill 3 cups of water. Then Mrs Pole picked some people to have a turn to sprinkle the oatmeal. Next we put 12 cups of oatmeal sprinkled into the pot. Following this we started going around the circle to mix the porridge. While the porridge was getting thick we were sitting up for Mrs Pole to call our name. Next we went up to Mrs Pole to get our porridge and eat it and some sugar. Last of all Mrs Mat poured milk into our bowl. I liked the part when we had a turn to stir.
